This is just to let the LB world know about what happened at the
East Coast get together.
First, I thought it was a smashing success, thanks to Newbi 1
who put most of it together.
We made books, thanks to Apple Dumpling Gang #3 Sarah,
who showed us all how. We carved, We exchanged, and then
after a wonderful pot luck meal... no hot dogs or anything bad for
you, except for the Krispy Kreme donuts (yum) we all went
boxing. There are 8 boxes in Pocahontas State Park so there
was plenty to go after.
Those in attendance were:
Newbi 1
mlgainey
Dazye
Leapfrog
Mary from VA.
Lighthouse lady
Kel
Ladybug
Maggie
Flutterby the letterbox traveler
the Apple dumpling Gang
Sarah, Tammy, Ginger, and Strick
Psychomommy and The Turtle
Boxitup
Firefly
Scott
Mountain Scorpia
VA is for Lovers (& Boxers) HH from luluphi
Biki
Hope I didnt miss anyone. Biki and I had a wonderful time and
really enjoyed meeting everyone on a beautiful day in a beautiful
location. Thanks to all those who came from far away you really
made our day.

Sounds like a great time!
I hope somebody took pictures and will upload them to the files
area... would love to see! I, the lonely letterboxer from the far
side of Michigan, am having to live my letterboxing social life
vicariously through all of you on the East Coast...

How could you forget Celtic Pride!
Yesterday was a great day and Celtic Pride and I claim bragging
rights as Pocahontas State Park Letterboxing Champions. We are the
only people so far who found all 8 boxes in one day. It took us over
5 hours!!!! And that's with figuring out how to combine the routes to
some boxes so we didn't have to go back to the beginning to start on
the next box. We saved miles of walking this way. But still, for
those who are planning a trip to this park, leave a lot of time as
there is A LOT of walking. It's also good to bring along a
determined Irish gal who will explore every pine tree in the park to
find where the "long meets the tall."
And Ladybug, we used the last page of the logs in your Boxes #1 and
2. We didn't have any extra paper to put in for the next people.
And three cheers for NewBe1 and the fine photographer Dayze! Thanks
for putting this together.
It was great to meet all of you.

Oh..... how could I do that! So sorry, Celtic Pride was in
attendance as well. (I forgot them because Biki and I had met
them prior to the gathering and when I went through my book to
write in names I started at the start of the gathering.) OOPS!

I'm sorry I had to miss it. Sounds like a great day and it would have
been fun to put some faces with all the familiar names! Oh well,
maybe another time.
